If you know the name Juliet Landau at all, it’s most likely as her portrayal of the ‘not quite right in the head’ vampire Drusilla in the television show Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

In October of last year, she launched an Indigogo campaign for A Place Among the Undead, intended to be the ‘definitive’ documentary about the horror movie monster of the vampire.

Shrouded in mythology and used as a metaphor for everything from disease to homosexuality, vampires have long been a part of our culture – and as part of our entertainment consumption. Landau has used her Hollywood connections to secure interviews with people such as Tim Burton, Joss Whedon, Gary Oldman, and Anne Rice – just to name a few – for the film, and the video on the campaign mentions that the film plans on exploring that hold vampires have on us.

While the original campaign surpassed its funding in November, there are still perks available on the Indigogo campaign if you donate at certain levels. The movie does plan on being released on DVD as well as VOD, but no release date has been announced.
