Podcasting for The Longest Day Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s
I grew up in a small town. When I went to college, I intentionally chose a smaller college because I knew going somewhere too big would be overwhelming.
I went to Park College (now Park University). I had done a little bit of theatre in high school, but knew it wasn’t something I wanted to pursue as a profession, but still wanted to participate. Thankfully, Park had just a theatre minor, and I qualified for a theatre scholarship as well.
The department chair was marsha morgan (as indicated in this spotlight I wrote for KC Stage, the lowercase ‘m’ is intentional). I managed to help out her and the theatre after graduating for a number of years.
marsha was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and passed away in 2018. While I’ve donated to the Association from time to time since her diagnosis, I’ve never participated in a fundraiser – as I’m not much of a fundraiser type of person.
However, when I heard about The Longest Day fundraiser, I was hooked. My podcast has gone through a change and is on a bit of a hiatus during the pandemic, but I figured this was a good opportunity to get some interviews logged for future release.
So, on June 21, 2022, I’ll be streaming interviews for Contents May Vary to raise funds. You can donate here.
Stay tuned for a schedule and how to tune in.
