The Longest Day Fundraiser 2024 – Round 4 Interview Announcements
The final round of interview announcements include a pagan, a writer / acafan, and my wife.
More than 10 million American women are either living with Alzheimer’s disease or caring for someone who has it. Tomorrow, June 20, 2024, I’ll be livestreaming podcast interviews from 7 am to 7 pm Pacific as part of the Alzheimer’s Association’s “The Longest Day” fundraiser.
The final round of interview announcements include a pagan, a writer / acafan, and my wife.
First up is Krystal Rains. Krystal is the social media fingers behind the Loscon science fiction and fantasy convention marketing team. She loves steampunk and her convention persona is Steampunk Witchypoo. She is also an artist, herbalist, healer, heretical witchcraft & shamanic practitioner. You can find her at The Green Man store in Burbank, LASFS (Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society), Southern California Divination Convention and the Pagan Community Retreat. She has an energy healing focus on Ancestral Trauma & creates ooak Magikal Kabinets.
I’ve been volunteering with Loscon for a couple of years now, and Krystal and I have become fast friends. We’ll talk about witchy stuff, what she does for Loscon, and more.
Next up is author and media analyst Angelique Jurd. Angelique is from New Zealand and has published more than 20 contemporary gay romance novels to date. Her field of media specialty is queer characterisation and representation in popular culture and she has a particular interest in the Supernatural universe and the character Dean Winchester.
She and I met several years ago in a Facebook group for fandom studies, and we bonded over our love of Sherlock, sidekicks, and dudes in denim.
Finally, for intermission is Kate Sutton. Kate is just a small town girl having big city adventures with her best friend and cats by her side. She’s a fangirl with a plethora of passions, including gaming, good friends, and groovy adventures. She’s an employee at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, helping to serve the community to stay strong and proud.
We’ve known each other since 1993, and have been married since 1999. She will be covering my lunch and doing tarot readings.
Tune in tomorrow, starting at 7 am Pacific. To see a full schedule of the day and to donate, visit www.angiefsutton.com/tld.
